Caixa Mágica and LIZAR Systems at TRUSTECH 2026: Identity and Payments in Paris

TRUSTECH 2026 runs from 1 to 3 December in Paris. What LisbonID partners Caixa Mágica and LIZAR Systems bring, three weeks before the EUDI Wallet deadline.

LisbonID Conference · 25 and 26 May 2027 · Fundação Oriente, Lisbon

TRUSTECH 2026 opens in Paris on 1 December. For three days, the payments and identification industries share one exhibition hall at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Two LisbonID partners will be there. LIZAR Systems exhibits with its own stand and live demonstrations. Caixa Mágica Software joins LIZAR in Paris to meet banks, issuers and integrators by appointment.

The timing matters. The show closes three weeks before 24 December, the deadline for EU member states to make the European Digital Identity Wallet available. Many of the people who will run, issue or accept those wallets will be in the same building.

This article explains what TRUSTECH is, what the two companies bring to Paris and how the show connects to LisbonID 2027.

What TRUSTECH Is

TRUSTECH began more than thirty years ago as Cartes, a show for smart cards. It now covers payment and identification technologies side by side. Banks, document issuers, public bodies, hardware makers and software companies exhibit and attend.

7,700
Visitors from 104 countries at the 2025 edition, with 197 exhibitors. The organisers expect 8,000 visitors in 2026.

The 2026 conference programme spans both worlds. Payments sessions cover AI in payments and commerce run by AI agents on behalf of customers. Identification sessions cover authentication, biometrics and digital identity.

Why Identity and Payments Meet This Year

Two dates frame the show. By 24 December 2026, every member state must offer a European Digital Identity Wallet. By 24 December 2027, banks and other private services that already require strong authentication must accept it.

For a bank, the wallet touches three daily processes.

  • Account opening. Customers can present state-verified identity data instead of sending document photos or joining a video call.
  • Authentication. Banks gain a new strong method for login and transaction approval.
  • Verified attributes. A bank can request only the data it needs. Less stored data means less risk after an incident.

TRUSTECH puts the people who issue credentials and the people who accept them in the same pavilion. That is rare. A few weeks before the first deadline, it is also useful. Our guide to the EUDI Wallet in banking covers each process in detail.

LIZAR Systems: DRACO on the Stand

LIZAR Systems shows live laser personalisation and AI-based quality inspection on its own stand. At the centre is DRACO, a transportable desktop unit that combines laser engraving with contact and contactless chip personalisation. It lets governments issue documents close to citizens rather than relying only on a central plant.

DRACO was also on show at the L.ID Cabo Verde Workshop on 2 November. Visitors who missed it there can see it working in Paris. For anyone assessing an identity programme, watching a document being issued and inspected explains the physical base that many digital identities rest on.

Caixa Mágica: Four Topics for Paris

Caixa Mágica comes to Paris for meetings rather than a stand. It focuses on four topics.

TopicFor whomWhat Caixa Mágica brings
Reading and authenticating with identity documentsIssuers, integrators and service providersDeveloper and maintainer of the Portuguese Citizen Card middleware since 2011. eID Box takes that work to other documents and contexts.
Integration with the European walletBanks, insurers, operators and public servicesPreparing organisations to accept the wallet as relying parties under eIDAS 2.0, ahead of December 2027.
Software quality in regulated sectorsBanks and payment institutionsQualiagentic generates and maintains tests with human approval and produces traceable evidence for DORA, Solvency II and PSD2.
Custom software and applied AICompanies in identity and paymentsPlatforms, integrations and AI assistants, such as the web platform built for LIZAR Systems.

Meetings with Caixa Mágica in Paris are arranged through the Caixa Mágica contact page.

One Chain, Two Companies

LIZAR works on issuance. Caixa Mágica works on reading, authentication and acceptance. Together they cover the chain from the card to the service that trusts it.

The partnership is already in practice. Caixa Mágica built LIZAR’s web platform, launched in September 2026 in five languages. The two companies sponsored the L.ID Cabo Verde Workshop in November. They will be together in Paris in December. In May they will be at LisbonID 2027.

How to Make the Most of TRUSTECH

  • Book meetings before you arrive. Diaries fill up in the weeks before the show. One booked meeting is worth more than several chance visits.
  • Bring a specific case. An integration deadline, an issuance volume or a process you want to change. Conversations built on a real case end with next steps.
  • Make time for demos. Seeing a document issued or a credential verified clarifies in minutes what a slide deck takes an hour to explain.
  • Follow up the same week. Contacts made at a show cool quickly. A short email with a summary and a proposed next step keeps them alive.

What TRUSTECH Means for LisbonID 2027

TRUSTECH comes three weeks before the wallet deadline. LisbonID comes five months after it. The questions raised in Paris about acceptance, liability and testing will have first answers by May. Lisbon is where those answers get compared.

LisbonID 2027 takes place on 25 and 26 May 2027 at Fundação Oriente in Lisbon. Sponsors and speakers who want to take part can register through the interest form.
